My name is Maya Tamang and I'm a senior in high school. My personal belief is that, if you are going to have sex, at least be smart about it. Use protection and be on birth control. Don't cut corners about something as important as the possibility of creating another life.
I can say that I am impressed with the maturity that you showed throughout your pregnancy. Carrying a baby to term is a difficult path to take. That being said, how could you have been stupid enough to not use protection? You knew the consequences of your actions. How hard would it have been to walk to the nearest convenience store and buy a freaking condom. They aren't that expensive! Way less than raising a child.
It's great that you found someone to adopt your baby but what if you hadn't? There is already an over abundance of children waiting in orphanages for someone to finally want them. Abortion really seems like the less selfish option. You wouldn't have brought a life you couldn't sustain into the world. You made it clear by your immature acts that you aren't an adult yet. If you weren't smart enough to use a contraceptive, you aren't mature enough to be having sex.
